This place is AWESOME! The bartenders are great and the food was really good. Granted, not exceptional, but good. We had two appetizers, the Parmesan Balls and the antipasto. Both tasty and the meats and cheeses were good quality. The outdoor patio bar is the best. I had the New Amsterdam Smash which is a vodka based mixture with fresh fruit and it was wonderful. Well, actually I had several of those. Ha ha. The warm chocolate cake is exactly that. Warm, moist and delicious. My boyfriend abandoned his crime brûlée and stole my cake. We visited all three Squares in The Villages (Sumter Landing, where Red Sauce is, Spanish Square and Brownwood) during our 4 day stay, we kept winding up here. The crowd is a great mixture of locals and tourists; young and old. Great, friendly people. I'm not sure why it has some of the poor reviews it does. Seating on the patio can get tricky during busy meal times but I didn't notice anyone waiting prolonged periods without service. We loved this place and are returning soon.

Best Italian Food in The Villages! Excellent food at fair prices. The place only takes reservations for parties of six or more, but they accommodated us for our party of 5. Sat right down. Great service from our waiter, TJ! He was right there for refills before I could finish our drinks! Got our order in fast and appetizers were out before we knew it. I recommend the muscles marina and calamari appetizers. The sauce alone will blow your mind! I could eat just appetizers for dinner and dunk a whole loaf of bread in that sauce to be happily content! Dinner was the lasagna, which was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing! My wife had the chicken franchese, which was good, but she was not overly thrilled with. My mom had the lobster ravioli, which we were all stealing from her plate! My son had spaghetti and meatballs, which was enough for two kids. I ordered a broccoli rabe and sausage side, out of curiosity, to share, that came out a little cold and was not needed after all the food I already ate. I had it the next day, heated for breakfast with eggs and it was MUCH better! Don't go anywhere else for Italian food in the Villages...I want to go back to try all the other yummy stuff on their menu!

The food was good, but the entertainment was great. They have dueling pianos, and the guys do an amazing job. I can't believe this was my first time. U have missed out in lots if fun. EVERY FRIDAY!

Manager, thank you for responding but I'm confused about your mention of gluten free. Our server clearly said you do not offer gluten free pastas. Was he wrong? I'm not talking about offering fish or meat or whatever you may have that may be gluten free for non-vegetarians. When I'm going to an Italian restaurant, I personally want to eat pasta and you did not offer it. I do look forward to returning to try your gluten free pasta options prepared with love and farm fresh ingredients.

I love the Anti-Pasta salad at Red Sauce. At times when it is too hot outside it is just nice to go to Red Sauce and get this salad! I really have not ever had a bad meal at Red Sauce in The Villages!

My parents eat here every Friday night with their friends, they have a big group. Their Favorite waitress is Robin and she keeps them happy. The food is amazing, very clean and well organized. Serving sizes are great and everything on the menu is prefect...

Bread with either olive oil or tomato butter, great salads, unique pizzas were all delicious ! Generous portion of Chicken Parmesan that melts in your mouth Everything we had was wonderful !!

Great spot on the square. Best patio with pretty propane fire towers to keep you cozy warm. Great lasagne and spaghetti n meatball. The only thing a little lacking was servers. I think they should add more servers on patio. Our guy was running around like crazy juggling people and tables. We often were waiting on him. But he did comp us a pitcher of beer. But we really didn't need it.

Our party of six was seated promptly. The food was delicious and the wait staff friendly and knowledgeable. Prices were reasonable. If there were any one thing I would have liked it would be cloth napkins. But, it definitely was worth five stars.

Such a disappointment. After a long day, my coworkers and I wanted to grab dinner and drinks. Similar to other reviews, we were told outside was first come/first serve. Fortunately we found a table in the corner. Things that made this a bad idea: 1. No hostess seating means no servers notified. We waited a while for someone to greet us. 2. No silverware or napkins were provided prior to us receiving our food. What upset me most: - The table was not level. When the server put my beer on the table, some of it spilled and she jokingly said "guess now it's a 10 oz". Slowly the beer starting dripping on me, so I asked for napkins. Her response was most shocking..."well the table isn't even.". Not "I'm sorry", or "I will be right over with a towel/napkins", but rather no acknowledgement that something had happened. (And nothing was offered for my less than full beer.) - When our apps came, I apologized and asked if we could send back the antipasta. The bread was stale, the meat looked like prepackaged deli meat (olive loaf), canned olives, and bad cheese. Our server's response..."the bread is supposed to be hard. I guess you didn't know what you were ordering." Other noteworthy items: - Pizza was awful (similar to a cheap frozen one). - We were never given knives. - Smokers on the porch were allowed to be to close to people eating. - Staff rarely smiled. (If they don't want to be there, why would we?) I worked hospitality for over 10 yrs. It's a hard business. I know what it is like to be slammed. Tonight's service wasn't the volume of guests, but rather the lack of acknowledgement from the staff that we were guests. I frequently visit the Villages, and I will never return to this restaurant.

Almost didn't go because of the reviews on here. Would have missed a great meal! Told the host it was our first time and he gave us a great table. Six folks in our party. We ordered salads and pizzas. It was all wonderful! The warm ciabatta bread comes an amazing tomato butter - and we also made dipping sauce from the selection of ingredients in the table. Mr. O'Brien, our personable server, was wonderful and attentive. Ask for him!

We had 10 for dinner and everyone loved the food and sevice. Some of the best Italian food in the Villages!

We waited almost an hour for our food. The prices of their drinks are ridiculous. I ordered a Bloody Mary with Absolute vodka. The cost of a Bloody Mary is $5.00, which is reasonable, but they charged $6.00 extra per drink for the Absolute. My 2 drinks cost $22.00! Actually, there should have been 2 shots of vodka in the drink the way they priced it - 1 shot for their regular Bloody Mary and a shot of Absolute that we were charged the extra $6.00 for. I have never paid so much for a drink in The Villages. Also, we ordered the fresh mozzarella and tomato appetizer thinking it was large enough for 2 people seeing that it cost $8.00. It was 3 small slices of cheese and 2 tomatoes. I will be going to Carrabbas from now on where they at least include a salad with their meals and their drinks are reasonably priced.

I have watched this restaurant go downhill for the last 5 years. This occasion, I ordered take out. The pasta with vodka sauce was what I used to visit this restaurant for, but this time it was a disaster. The sauce was greasy and mainly olive oil, and there didn't appear to be any coating or ricotta in the sauce at all. The noodles were dry and bland. The seven dollar appetizer of pasta chips, was pita bread with a few spices sprinkled on it, with a side of Alfredo sauce in a tiny cup. The chips were soggy and chewy. The kale salad had large pieces of kale, a few pieces of radish, carrots, and the dressing was a plain vinaigrette. The cheese pizza was good when it was hot. This was a very unremarkable dinner for $50, and other nearby restaurants in the Villages top this experience any day of the week.

  • Carolyn K.

Service was slow and the food was nothing outstanding. Medium to high price for what you get. Neat and clean inside. Pizza looked good as it went by us to another table. May have to try that next time. We had spaghetti which was kind of bland. Meatballs were huge! Garlic Bread did not have enough garlic on it for me. Yes, we will go back but not to make a special trip for.

I was not impressed. Had Beef tenderloin carpaccio and it was raw, not been marinated in lemon as it is supposed to be, no salt, rocket and parmesan cheese set aside like it's been forgotten. Had returned it with a request for comments from the chef's part but all I got back was the waitress saying "the chef said he has seasoned the meat and he said we marinate in oil only, not lemon"..then had rigatoni bolognese and they were decent but not awesome, and the parmesan cheese tasted nothing! That is an insult to the real italian parmesan cheese, to say the least. Last thing I had was a tiramisu, because I thought that it takes a genius to mess up the tiramisu! Well it came out good so the chef is worth something. Never again, thank you very much!

We waited an hour to get a table for four here. Was it worth it -----A-OK. I started with the lobster bisque (I always get this if offered because I rate them around the world, on a 1-10 scale this was a 6). I then had the "Bada-Bing" shrimp appetizer. It was not what I expected. It was not spicy like the bang -bang shrimp offered at other places , it was a tasty creamy sauce with three large shrimp. It was very good. My wife had the caprice salad and the spaghetti and said it was good. All in all it was a good meal and worth the wait since we were dancing in the square for most of the wait.

I'm only giving one star because of the outside atmosphere. They told us to just grab a table on the patio as first come first serve. But we sat for 10 mins afterwards and never cleaned the table after being asked to do so. Salads came out before apps and apps were ordered 20 mins beforehand. Server forgot 2nd round of drinks and very unanattentive overall. Everyone in my party had the bolognese and liked it. But I had the veggie pasta and it was horrible/no taste at all. Will never go back and will not suggest to anyone in The Villages!

    (1)
  • Sara K.

One star is actually too high for this joke of an Italian restaurant! The food was dry, and cold and for a $9 lunch sandwich I expected a lot better. The service was appalling! The waiter TJ was the most unpleasant and inattentive Jerks I have ever encountered! Stay clear of this place!

    (1)
  • Deborah W.

I had the Tortellini with peas and Alfredo sauce. It was good, not fabulous, but good. Ordered sides of meatballs and Italian sausage. Meatballs were a little salty, sausage was average . My Sangria was good with fresh fruit but took A little while to get.

Fourteen of us ate dinner and everyone complimented the food; I know my Filet Mignon was excellent. Generous pour on the drinks! :-) the server did a great job with our large party. This is a very popular place in The Villages, for sure. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Great little Italian ristorante'! Clean, friendly with a full service bar too! Reasonable prices with regular and larger sized choices. My favorite is the pasta Bolognese! Lunch size order is well worth getting, as it is pretty big by itself!

Probably the worst Eggplant parm I've ever had. The sauce was burnt and it just ruined the whole thing. Ugh, was so mad. My mom liked her Linguine with White Clam Sauce, she said it was 4 stars. However one of the whole clams in the shell was non existent. The bread was good, came with butter, pesto olive oil, and like a tomato butter. We started out with Calamari which was good, however the marinara sauce was spicy and it kind of ruined it. It was also served with a creamy sauce which was interesting and good. Happy hour was till 7 which was nice, but with select alcohol only. Our waitress was friendly. Food came out quick.

I've eaten here many times, and always had a great meal! The service is consistently good. The Focaccia bread that they bring to the table with flavored butter and dipping oil is dangerously tasty. You could have a meal on that alone. Try the Chicken Florentine! The sauce on it is do delicious I even ask to have it on the side of pasta that accompanies the entree. When I'm in the mood for Italian in The Villages--I head to Red Sauce!

Premier Catering catered my wedding out of Red Sauce. They did a PHENOMENAL job catering our wedding at the Savannah Center. i could not have been happier!! The servers were very accommodating, the food was hot and tasty and the entire event ran like a well oiled machine. i would recommend them to anybody and everybody who is having a party big or small and they will do an OUTSTANDING job!

Not bad! Seating outside, eating lamps on (was breezy n chill) on a Friday evening. Place is packed. Server John was soooo attentive with the assistance of the chef to accommodate my gluten no butter allergy. Chef made me chicken Florentine w no sugars!! Added prosciutto and artichokes... mom had her chicken marsala and loved it. Good spinach and beet salad but too heavy in the dressing. Not bad!

Eh. This place doesn't really move me one way or the other. The food tasted pretty good, but we weren't wowed by anything we ate. The ambiance was very generic, which matches the general style of The Villages. The cost was average for this type of setting. The best part was the service, which was very friendly and fast.

This is a 2.5, but I'll round up because I really don't have complaints about the food I ordered. Okay first off, this place seems to be staffed with big bulky waiters who used to be linebackers for the football team. Our waiter was alllllright. I asked about a wine, and he looked confused and said 'I think that's a white wine?' It was an italian red. He offered to give me a sample, which was nice. We ordered pizza --goat cheese and artichoke, a fun combo-- and salad (both of which were very tasty... my only quibble is that the wedge salad had only a tiny bit of lettuce, a tiny, tiny wedge!), and he never brought us out the complementary bread spread. (A blessing and a curse!) Midway through we were having a fourth person join us, and that person was a meat eater (no meat on the pizza we ordered). We asked to get the kid menu pizza with pepperoni for that person. At this point, we've already ordered a pizza, two salads and a bunch of wine. We're not cheap, but we're trying not to order more than necessary. His response? "I can't do that, my manager would kill me." Even if you can't do it (which you CAN) that response is such a horrible, horrible response. RED SAUCE, listen up: Your porch will be full (like city fire's ---ouch!) when you start to treat the customer with some flexibility and train your waiters to do simple things like not forget the bread and memorize the six red wines you offer. With a price point like the one at Red Sauce, these are things customers should expect and be offered. The outdoor decor was nice. There are heaters and comfy chairs.

Stopped in for some pizza and drinks . I wanted to sit in the outside bar and enjoy the view . Very crowded ,not that it bothered us but my god the old fogies sitting around the outside bar and tables were smoking like they were have their last puff before going to the electric chair. Off to my left to idiots were smoking cigars! Holy smoke batman! You really can't enjoy eating outside because of the terrible smoke problem. We finished our drinks and left. You don't want to bring kids there because of the second hand smoke.

I would have to say, the ambiance is very nice, if a bit on the under-lighted side. For a place in The Villages, I would expect it to be a bit brighter, more "elderly friendly". But I suppose I'm just being a bit odd on that. *I* liked it, but it just seemed a bit out of place, and it just tugs at me for some reason. The food was really good, though my aunt claimed most people don't like the "red sauce" there but prefer the marinara. So I had a side of pasta with the red sauce, and I didn't find anything wrong with it, the flavor was good, the marinara was good also, a bit more spice and kick to it, so I think if that's what you prefer, than the marinara IS better, but I like both. The service, I thought, was almost a bit lacking, my food came out on a plate that was to hot for even me to handle, and being a chef myself, that's a bit over-board. And our waitress was very non-existent throughout the meal. Granted it was busy, but still make time for each of your tables.. Other than that, I would return, (when I'm down there again). Plenty of other places to try in Florida, so it may be when I actually retire, but if you're down there, and looking for a good place to eat, more up-scale than a bar and fast food, drop on in.

We stopped in after a long day (we will be moving to The Villages in a few weeks and had some things to do there). We decided on Red Sauce because of all the negative reviews (lets try it and get it out of the way (off our list) or at least just find out for ourselves). It was great!! I had the Rigatoni Bolignese (spelling doesn't count) and my wife had the clams & muscles dish with linguini....she loved it!! Our waitress was in her first week of training and she was great!! I took one star off due to the bread not being warm. Another positive is that lot of items come in half portions (and smaller price) which can work very well with pasta dishes. We liked it and will be back when we move!!

    (4)
  • D G.

Think the previous reviews are right on. Ok food and service, but a little pricey for Italian. Outside seating is nice with the nightly entertainment across the square. Should be 2.5 but I will give them the benefit of the doubt.

  • D. J.

Great to sit outside and have a drink.... THATS IT! The food is not good at all, I've eaten here numerous times only because Village friends consider it convenient. I've had chicken Marsala that was very bland and needed a pound of salt to get any flavor. Everything that I've eaten here that has red sauce, ie: chicken parm, eggplant parm, ziti & meatballs, calamari, has been pretty bad. I'm 35 and experienced my first ever heartburn after eating their red sauce. And every time thereafter I've gotten incredible heartburn. Needless to say I avoid this place for food. We now only go for drinks with friends outside.

Just ok. Salad came in the smallest bowl. Made it difficult to eat. Meal was ok. Chicken franchise. Missing something. White wine maybe. Needed more egg. Don't waste your time with so many other great choices here in The Villages.

Terrible. Food cold, fruit fly in martini shaker, waitress put martini glass on table with her fingers on rim this after she had just wiped her face off. OMG.

Red sauce is a great place to come and grab a cocktail. We actually went here several times over the 5 days that we were in town for dinner and brunch. The food was nothing special, in fact, it was a bit average, if not below. What makes this place great is not the food, it's their location and great set up. You can come out and have cocktails under their covered veranda which provides the necessary shade to sit back, relax and spend time with your loved ones. You can people watch or watch the game on one of the many T.Vs they have over the bar. The beer here is also very cheap and the service is really good. This seemed to be our meeting spot nightly and they always took care of us, which we very much appreciated. I wouldn't come here for the food but would highly recommend for cocktails.

We had a free Saturday and my husband and I drove around to discover new areas (we are transplants to the area) and were pleasantly surprised when we stumbled upon this area. There was live music and happening. We were hungry and decided to dine at Red Sauce b/c there were a lot of people - a good sign right? There was a wonderful breeze coming across the water at the end of July - a rarity and definitely should be savored! We were seated outside as requested and the service was average. The Bellini I ordered was not good - I sent it back and got something else. They were happy to accommodate. The bread was cold when they came to the table and that left a not so good first impression. The two pasta dishes we order were bland and needed salt and more seasonings. I wouldn't be opposed to coming back and trying something else, but for the price, I was expecting more. I may try a different restaurant in the area prior to returning to this one.

    (3)
  • Karen K.

The best thing I can say about Red Sauce is the good outside seating. One of our pizzas was very disappointing. The roasted cauliflower and garlic pizza was good but the plain cheese pizza tasted worse than an inexpensive variety frozen pizza., as we did not eat it, it was taken off the bill.

    (2)
  • Stephanie C.

While on vacation at the villages we decided to try red sauce. What a mistake! The food was pricey. On top of that the pasta I got was so bland and not tasty at all! The only thing i enjoyed was the bread and my Cosmo (that was perfect)! We spent 100$ on dinner instead I wish we would have not wasted our time or money. I suggest only going there for cocktails not the food!

It was date night for my husband & I we saw this place was poppin!! It took 20min for someone to acknowledge us to take a drink order, my husbands beer was flat, had to salt all my cold food,WAY over priced, the calamari portion was too small for a $10 app, marinated sauce was ice cold.. $53 down the drain.. the show restaurant impossibles on food network needs to take over this place.. my advice go to City Fire on the other side of the block I give that place 5 stars!! I will NEVER return!

Typical for area. Limited wines. So-so food. Says something when industrial chain restaurants dominate the top 20. Badly trained staff -- again, typical. Memo to owners: wait staff should know every dish. And ladies have their order taken and delivered first. And, all meals delivered at same time -- if you can't do this for a party more than X, don't seat them! If you're there for beer, laughs, noise and acceptable (for South) pizza - good place.

This is our favorite Italian restaurant and we go there often. We have never had a bad meal and are pretty picky about Italian cuisine. Their plain spaghetti and meatballs is delicious and comes in a bathtub . . . well, not really, but it sure is a huge bowl. Their pizza is excellent. Their signature dish, eggplant parmigiana, is outstanding.

I was hesitant to try this for dinner after reading the reviews-glad we chanced it, it was great! We were greeted and seated immediately by a very friendly front house manager. We were then visited by our server, Trevor, who was the definition of a professional server. Made me laugh, was very charming, drinks were always full and our food was delivered promptly when we mentioned we were trying to catch a movie. Overall, this was a great experience, food was good, service spot on and the decor was lovely-we definitely recommend this gem. We'll be back!

redsauce.. in the hotspot location in the sumter landing town square, this place wants to claim as a destination for gourmet cuisine in florida's friendliest retirement community... but it can claim no such title. perhaps the general clientele, or a captive audience... but this place is pretty mediocre and one note. for a saturday night, the place was popping. it was packed, but i'm thinking that it must be only for people who wouldn't dare venture out of the villages and only wanted to use their golfcart to get there. we came here for dinner, and surprisingly did not wait for a seat. we were told by the sbux gossip group that the wait can be pretty bad. we were promptly seated, and the menu seemed pretty generic and american italian cuisine. we were jonesing for a glass of vino, so we ordered a quartino of a pinot noir. it was pretty dreadful and might as well been a rose. we had the calamari as an appetizer.. it lacked taste, lemon, seasoning, and was just basically greasy.. the fettuccine carbonara tasted worst than a frozen dinner.. it was uneventful, poorly seasoned, bacon was undercooked, and noodles were overcooked. the gnocci was overcooked and again underseasoned. based by the large salt and pepper shakers at the table, it seems like they already know their food is terrible. service was spotty, and our server was profusely sweating the whole time and had this confused look on his face. i understand that its the villages, but you're almost better getting into your CAR and not the golfcart and going to the olive garden outside the villages.. red sauce was a definite disappointment. red sauce was definitely not as saucy as i would have expected.

Weird, super slow, so-so food--and just so not good in too many ways to explain. There has to be something way better in this "town" because I think people here are probably finnicky and expect a lot more. Food, just ok. Bartender, just shouldn't be here, or a bartender....what a shitty experience for my parents that wanted to show off The Villages. This would last 5 minutes in my neighborhood.

We took our kids to Red Sauce last night hoping for a nice evening with good food. We wanted to sit outside and enjoy the evening. We had a short wait for a table. When we were finally seated, a server plopped some bread down in front of us and never said a word. Finally after 15 minutes, we asked a server, "who was taking care of our table?". The server finally showed up with lots of excuses. After our order was taken, it was about 30 minutes more before our food showed up. Terrible service. The food was fine. Nothing special. There are better places to eat in The Villages.

We love Red Sauce! Veal piccata, carbonara, antipasto salad; breads; servers; wines. House wines $3.00; entrees less than $20.00. A Villages plus: they take reservations.

Ditto on the previous reviewers...You know, in The Villages...The hired help bounce from one job to another because they can...a couple of weeks after grand opening and the food quality goes south...happens every time! Absolutely HORRIBLE management at Red Sauce, she argued with us about our meal !!!

The first Reviewer reeally hit it on the head....if you like canned Chef Boyardi sauce, this is the place for you. I anxiously looked forward to eating there after reading an interview with the owners. Big Disappointment. Save your money, eat at Bravos down the street....or really treat yourself to a great meal at Naples on 441 in Leesburg.

Possibly the worst restaurant experience ever. The menu looked good, the place looked clean and nice. That's about the best I can say. Brent was our waiter. When we ordered cocktails, we also ordered two glasses of water. When the beverages arrived, only one glass of water. The waiter said he guessed he miscounted. What? We ordered a Chopped Antipasto and asked for two plates. So normally a chopped antipasto is just that - not small pieces of diced meats and cheeses. Only one plate came with the bowl of salad and it was hot - like it just came out of the dishwasher. We finally procured an additional plate after about 5 minutes when another waiter saw we were somewhat distressed. A plate of rolls and butter arrived. As we noticed that other tables had dishes of olive oil and herbs (dipping oil) with their rolls, we asked our waiter for some. He came back with a cruet of plain olive oil - like you would serve with oil/vinegar for a salad! We ordered Lobster stuffed ravioli and a seafood pasta with red sauce. Our entrees arrived when we were only half done with our salad. A minor complaint from us was met with nonchalance and offer to take them back and keep them warm or put them back in a pan to re-heat. We decided to keep them. The waiter who delivered the entrees automatically grated cheese on the pasta, but didn't even offer to do so with the ravioli. If there was any lobster in the ravioli it must have been in someone else's order. As for the red sauce on the pasta, it was akin to a Manhattan clam chowder without the diced vegetables in it. Sauce? - More like broth. The manager did comp a glass of wine after our complaints.... Really? Oh, get them drunk so they don't noticed how terrible the food and service is!!! My best advice...find another restaurant or cook at home.

It sounds as though the previous reviews were about a completely different restaurant. Perhaps management noticed the complaints of others and cleaned up their act, but our experiences here have been excellent. Their strong point very likely is their Sunday buffet (10AM - 2PM), which we very much enjoyed on 3 occasions. There is a wide variety of enticing tidbits, ranging from various salads, sliced pork with apricot-mustard sauce, sauteed chicken breast, broiled salmon, mild Italian sausage, frittatas, and a few typical breakfast items (blintzes, home fries, waffles). Any type of omelet is made to order. Individual items differ one week to the next, so there is usually an excellent variety to sample from. Since this is an Italian themed restaurant, many of the dishes are indeed Italian. Various sauces compliment the dishes. Living up to its name, several of the dishes come with a red sauce, many uniquely different from the other, all home-made. Desserts at the buffet are truly superb. These also differ from week to week, and range from cannoli, through cheesecake, cobblers, flan, layered cakes, home-made chocolate chip cookies, even, since this is Florida, flan. Service has been impeccable. Coffee is constantly being refilled, used plates promptly whisked away. Chefs behind the serving counter are happy to answer any question one might have. By the way, the coffee served is rich and full-bodied, without tasting burnt or bitter. I have only 2 complaints with the buffet. The broiled salmon, although tasting good, was somewhat dry, and the water served (unasked, and with lemon) is from the tap with some aftertaste to it. A water filter would greatly improve this. We also had pizza on one occasion, a margherita. with just the right amount of char on the crust, and slices of tomatoes and fresh basil leaves. This is not American pizza. Rather it is exactly like that served in good pizzerias in Naples, Italy. Service was also excellent on that evening, even though the restaurant was packed. There was no $30 pizza. The Villages is a very large retirement community, surrounded by a sea of chain restaurants, the majority, such as Olive Garden, offering up passable but mediocre servings. The number of restaurants in this area not part of a chain is minuscule. For the diner who relishes stepping out of the ordinary and tasting something truly authentic and tasty, Redsauce has much to offer.

my girlfriend was using the public bathrooms behind the restaurant and witnessed one of the female cooks leaving the bathroom stall and walked right past the sinks without thoroughly washing their hands and back into the restaurant!!! Disgusting!!! I will NEVER eat there knowing that they employ persons who are so unsanitary!

Ate in this place while visiting my folks this weekend. Had the Chicken Maria and, ugh, not edible. The place was packed and we waited and waited for our food. The waiter was slightly bizarre. Dropped our drinks and calamari off at the same time...but didn't seem to notice that we had no utensils or napkins EVEN WHEN I ASKED FOR THEM. Weird. Funny moments. After waiting an hour for our entrees the waiter and another server are standing there talking with our tray of food RIGHT IN FRONT OF US. We would have just shrugged off the weird service which included the waiter dropping things on me (food, dirty knife in my lap) if the food was okay, but it wasn't. Chicken Maria was greasy, veal param was like something out of supermarket freezer - vegetables not cooked, and my mother had shrimp on a bed of something that we couldn't identify...mashed potatoes? All in all it was a pretty bad experience.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
